A new Marvel-style universe will bring together mythical figures such as Godzilla, Evangelion, Ultraman and Kamen Rider

Toho, Toei, Khara and Tsuburaya Productions, the 4 major studios in Japan, have announced the upcoming launch of the Shin Japan Heroes Universe, which will include representations of the most recognized franchises.

The person responsible for integrating all these characters into the same universe is none other than the creator of Evangelion, Hideaki Anno.

Toho is the company that created Godzilla, Toei is behind Kamen Rider, Tsuburaya produces Ultraman, and Khara is the animation studio founded by Neon Genesis Evangelion creator Hideaki Anno.

The site describes the Shin Japan Heroes Universe as a “miracle project” that unites the four works. On the other hand, we must mention that they have also published their own website and in it, we can appreciate the distinctive logo that their creations will carry, from the hands of Mahiro Maeda.

After spending his career at Studio Ghibli, Maeda became a major contributor to the works of anime studio Gonzo, helping create shows like Blue Submarine No. 6 and Gankutsuou: The Count of Monte Cristo.

The exact form this project will take is unknown at this time, though Anime News Network notes that events, merchandising, and other merchandise are being planned as part of the collaboration.

According to Tsuburaya Productions, more details about the Shin Japan Heroes Universe and its wide range of developments will be revealed this year.
