“We recognize that regulators may have other important questions as they review our acquisition of Activision Blizzard,” the company begins in a statement on its official blog. “We are committed to clarifying each of them, while also responding to two of them publicly.”
“To be clear, Microsoft will continue to make Call of Duty and other popular Activision Blizzard games available on PlayStation through any existing agreement with Activision. And we have also committed to Sony to publish them on PlayStation beyond any existing agreement and in the future, so that Sony fans can continue to enjoy the games they love, ”explains Microsoft.
He underlines that they are also “interested” in following a similar approach with Nintendo. “We believe this is the right thing to do for the industry, for players and for our business.”
Days after announcing the purchase of Activision Blizzard for 68.7 billion dollars, Phil Spencer came out to share his “desire” to keep the saga on PlayStation. Microsoft’s statement confirms the trend that will continue in the future, and that is that Call of Duty will remain multiplatform.
