On the morning of this Sunday, February 6, a car bomb was activated in Padilla, a municipality located in the north of the Cauca.
The vehicle loaded with explosives detonated near the church in this town.
For the attack, Defense Minister Diego Molano , announced on his Twitter account: “Regional Commanders of the Army and the Police to the Security Council to assess the situation of public order, protection measures for citizens and actions to capture responsible terrorists. SinTregua for the rescue of Cauca.”

The secretary of the Government of this town, Raúl Ortiz, reported that the event leaves four people injured.
“Two have serious injuries and the other two, minor injuries. One has already been referred to a more complex clinic. Fortunately, there were no deaths,” said the official.

Similarly, significant collateral damage has been reported in front of the village church and neighboring residences.

According to the authorities, the attack would be part of the threats that the dissidents they did to attack the Public Force.
The event occurred around 8:50 in the morning on February 6.
The shock wave destroyed the facades of the houses and the church.
“The men did not manage to reach the station as such, which was where they had intended the attack, because the first security ring prevented them. That is why it exploded in front of the fences that are located at the road accesses to the police unit”, reported some uniformed men.
A person who got out of the car used in the attack was intercepted when he was fleeing the municipality, according to the authorities. It was placed at the disposal of the Attorney General’s Office.
The Public Force reported that it would be the response of the Farc dissidence ‘Dagoberto Ramos’ for the death in combat of Euclides España Caicedo, alias Jhonier, leader of all the dissidents that have a presence in the departments of Cauca, Valle and Nariño, grouped in the self-styled ‘Comando Suroccidente’.
The dissident chief died in a military operation carried out in the Tacuey corregimiento in Toribío, on the 24th January of this year.
