Elden Ring: All Stats Explained

Whether you’re new to the Soulsborne games or have been playing since Demon’s Souls, it’s important to know all about your stats and what they mean. If you’re trying to increase your max HP but keep spending runes to increase stamina, then you won’t get very far from your goal. If you want to make sure you’re making good use of your runes, here are all Elden Ring stats explained.


All stats in Elden Ring explained

As much as the gameplay in Elden Ring is focused on mastering the style of combat that suits your playstyle, it’s still very much an RPG that has a massive focus on stats. Below are lists of stats divided into categories as you can find them in the Elden Ring menus along with how they affect your character.


Attribute Points

  • vigorous – Increases HP, fire resistance, immunity
  • Mind – Increases FP, Focus
  • Stamina – Increases stamina, robustness, equip charge
  • Strength – Required for heavy equipment use, increases Physical Attack Damage, Physical Defense
  • Dexterity – Required for use of some light teams, decreases cast time, fall damage, makes it harder to be removed from Torrent
  • Intelligence – Required for Spells, increases Magic Attack Damage for Spells, Magic Resist
  • Faith – Required for enchantments, increases magic attack damage for enchantments
  • Arcane – Increases discovery, vitality, holy defense, needed for certain enchantments

Base Stats

  • HP – This is your life. Run and die. Replenish yourself by resting in a Place of Grace or consuming a Flask of Crimson Tears.
  • FP – Focus Points. These are consumed by using enchantments and sorceries. Renew yourself by resting in a place of grace or consuming a vial of cerulean tears.
  • Stamina – Required to dash, roll, block, attack, and dash with Torrent. It resets automatically.
  • Equip Load – Total weight of equipped equipment. Movement slows as this number increases.
  • Balance – Higher Poise makes it harder for enemies to knock you down.
  • Discovery – Increases the chance of finding items on defeated enemies.
  • Memory Slots – Number of slots available for enchantments and sorceries.

Defense/Damage Negation

  • Physical – Indicates the level of damage negation against physical attacks.
  • VS-Strike – Indicates the level of damage negation against striking physical attacks.
  • slash – Indicates the level of damage negation against physical slashing attacks.
  • versus pierce – Indicates the level of damage negation against piercing physical attacks.
  • magic – Indicates the level of damage negation against magic-based attacks.
  • Fire – Indicates the damage negation level of fire-based attacks.
  • Lightning – Indicates the level of damage negation against lightning-based attacks.
  • Holy – Indicates the level of damage negation against attacks based on holy items.

Resistance

  • Immunity – Resistance to poisons and plagues
  • Sturdy – Resistance to Bleeding and Frostbite
  • Focus – Sleep and Insanity Resistance
  • vitality – Instant death resistance

Attack power (armaments)

  • Physical – Displays the current physical weapon damage stat plus bonuses.
  • Magic – Displays the current magic weapon damage stat plus bonuses.
  • Fire – Shows the damage stat of the current firearm plus bonuses.
  • Lightning – Displays the damage stat of the current lightning weapon plus bonuses.
  • Holy – Displays the damage stat of the current holy weaponry plus bonuses.
  • Critical – Displays the damage stat of the current critical damage loadout plus bonuses.
  • Sorcery Scaling – Indicates how much weapon damage scales based on intelligence attribute.
  • Enchantment Scaling – Indicates how much the weapon damage scales based on the Faith attribute.
  • Ordered – Indicates how far a missile weapon can fire.

Equipment stats (head, chest, arms and legs)

  • Weight – How much a piece of gear adds to your Gear Charge.
  • Physical – Indicates the team’s damage negation level for incoming physical attacks.
  • VS-Strike – Indicates the team’s damage negation level for incoming physical surprise attacks.
  • slash – Indicates the team’s damage negation level for incoming physical slashing attacks.
  • versus pierce – Indicates the team’s damage negation level for incoming piercing physical attacks.
  • magic – Indicates the team’s damage negation level for incoming magic-based attacks.
  • Fire – Indicates the team’s damage negation level for incoming fire-based attacks.
  • Lightning – Indicates the team’s damage negation level for incoming lightning-based attacks.
