Former player of Millos, suspended for accusations of domestic violence







Peruvian national team midfielder Andy Polo, who played for Millonairos in 2014,was suspended this Wednesday by the Portland Timbers of the MLS due to accusations against him for domestic violence.


“Effective immediately, Polo has been suspended by the league and removed from all team activities,” the current runner-up Timbers said in a statement. of the North American Soccer League (MLS).

“MLS is conducting an investigation into the matter and will remain in close communication with the Timbers and the MLS Players Association throughout the process,” the franchise added.

According to Peruvian media, Polo was accused of physical and psychological abuse by his ex-partner in a television program. The 27-year-old midfielder has played for the Timbers since 2018 and previously wore the uniform of the Mexican Morelia and the Colombian Millonarios, among other teams.

Last season, Polo suffered a serious injury in May and was unable to play in the playoffs or the MLS final, in which the Timbers lost to New York City FC.
