Grand Theft Auto: Trilogy anticipates “new patches” from March

Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy – The Definitive Edition will continue to receive support from Rockstar Games. This has been confirmed by the company through its official twitter account. The community can look forward to “new patches” starting to arrive in the week of February 28 to March 6.

“New patches are coming next week to Grand Theft Auto The Trilogy – The Definitive Edition on all platforms. We appreciate the patience and support of the community,” explains Rockstar Games. It has not transpired at this time the magnitude of the patches or what it will correct.

GTA: The Trilogy, a controversial definitive edition

Since its marketing last 2021, this The Definitive Edition of GTA: The Trilogy has been involved in controversy. Looking at critical reception, the Nintendo Switch version was the sixth worst game of the year with an average of 47 out of 100. Gameplay and technical issues were the trigger.

A few days after its launch, the company apologized publicly: “We want to sincerely apologize to everyone who has encountered problems playing. The Grand Theft Auto franchise, and the games that make up this iconic trilogy, are as special to us as they are to fans around the world. Updated versions of these classics have not been released in a state that meets our quality standards, or the standards that our fans have come to expect.”

Take-Two, its publisher, claimed some time later that the problems are “an isolated case” within its quality standard. “We have had very few quality failures in the company, so every time we have fallen behind from a quality standpoint it has been an isolated case and we intend to keep it that way,” said Strauss Zelnick, CEO of the company.

Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy – The Definitive Edition is available on PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, PC and Nintendo Switch.
