Honor has just announced that its next smartphone will be called Honor Magic 4. This means that a new high-end phone is coming and that, unlike previous installments in the series, this one could arrive in the form of a global launch instead of being limited to certain markets.
After being satisfied with the Honor 50, the first phone launched by the brand with Android after Huawei split, and being truly curious about the Honor Magic V folding phone, now Honor announces that its new smartphone is at the around the corner.
The image of the first press release leaves no doubt about what the main feature of this smartphone will be: photography. That is why there is a great camera module that stands out as the protagonist in all the promotional material. We are not Sherlock Holmes, that is clear.
According to the latest spec leaks, the three models in the new series will each offer: a 50-megapixel wide-angle camera and a 50-megapixel ultra-wide camera that’s also capable of macro photography. >
The standard version will be equipped with a 16-megapixel telephoto sensor, while the Pro models will feature a 50-megapixel telephoto sensor (with 100x digital zoom support), a 50-megapixel monochrome camera, and a 8×8 dTOF depth.
The first product teaser hinted that it would work with a Snapdragon 8 Gen 1, Qualcomm’s latest high-end mobile chipset that offers 5G connectivity, and which we talked about at length in this post a few weeks ago.
According to @RODENT950 on Twitter, we’ve been able to see rumored spec sheets for three different models in the range: a standard version, a Plus version and a Pro Plus version.
All devices in the range will have OLED screens compatible with one billion colors, HDR10+ and a refresh rate of 120 Hz. In addition, each of them will have the IP68 certification to better protect it from any entry of dust or water.
However, and unsurprisingly, there are many key differences between each of the three phones in the series, ranging from worst to best depending on the finish.
These are the main differences in the screen, unless we know for the moment:
- The Honor Magic 4 will have a 6.55-inch screen with a resolution of 2400 x 1080 px and a frame rate 300 Hz touch sampling.
- The Honor Magic 4 Pro will have a 6.67-inch screen with a resolution of 2772 x 1344 px.
- The Honor Magic 4 Pro Plus will have a very sharp resolution of 3200 x 1440 px on its large 6.78-inch screen, and like the Pro version, it will have a touch sampling rate of 360 Hz .
From what we have seen so far, the Honor Magic 4 will be one of the top-of-the-range models to take into account for this 2022. In just a few days we will have its presentation, so stay tuned.
