It’s worth noting that before you can get Arena Medals, you’ll need to complete the additional request to open Arena. This implies that Aloy has to get some parts of the machine from different locations marked on the map. Remember, getting machine parts requires him to aim his guns at them to remove the component. If he just destroys the machine without removing the components first, he won’t be able to get them. Using Focus to slow down time makes doing this much easier.
Getting arena medals in Horizon Forbidden West
Arena Medals are earned by completing challenges in the Arena found in Memorial Grove.
The number of medals you earn in each challenge depends on how quickly you complete it. You can find details about the time limits and the number of medals you will earn by completing the challenge within each time limit on the right side of the screen when a challenge is selected.
How to use arena medals
- Walk away from the main entrance of the Arena and look for a merchant NPC on your right hand side of the path in front of you named Dukkah.Walk up to them and press Triangle to start a conversation.
- Dukkah will allow you to exchange your Arena Medals for some of the best weapons and armor in the game. Simply select the Exchange Medals option to do so.You can also swap any tags you got here.
- Select the piece of equipment you want to buy and hold X to buy it, or Square to buy it and equip it immediately.The number of Arena Medals you’ll need to purchase each piece of gear is located on the right side of the screen.
