How to upgrade weapons in Horizon Forbidden West

The easiest place to upgrade weapons (at least early in the game) won’t be available until you first enter Chainscrape, which is unlocked after going through Daunt and completing the To The Brink main quest.

Although when you first enter Chainscrape you won’t be able to use any vendors, the workbench will be available for you to use as much as you like. Later in the game, there will be workbenches all over the map, not just in designated settlements.

Each rarity of a weapon increases the number of possible upgrades. Green weaponry only gets three upgrades, blue has four, purple and legendary weapons have five possible upgrades.
