According to information provided by the commander of the Bogotá Police, General Eliécer Camacho, last weekend the behavior of security indicators in the city remained stable and showed results in terms of homicides, which compared to this same date last year, achieved a reduction of 6 cases.
General Camacho said that “within the targeted plans that we have implemented since the beginning of the year, this weekend we captured 326 people for different crimes and we have seized 12 firearms, 16 traumatic weapons, 9 recovered vehicles and 18 recovered motorcycles”.
Similarly, the authorities announced that during this weekend 52,000 attentions for different reasons and that were attended by police officers. Among which 2,000 were due to a fight in some sector of the city.
Among the most important arrests of the weekend was that of two foreign citizens who were caught stealing from inside a house in the town of Chapinero. “Fortunately, the timely information from the security guard allowed the authorities to arrive on time and make the capture before the robbery was completed,” said Camacho.
