Sifu: How to stun opponents

In Sifu, only you can hunt down and take revenge on the group of people responsible for your father’s death. To do this before succumbing to old age, you’ll need to take advantage of every weapon in your arsenal, including its ability to stun opponents. Here’s everything you need to know about how to stun opponents in Sifu.


While there isn’t a well-defined stun button on Sifu, there are at least several different ways to execute moves that will make them stop.

How to stun opponents in Sifu:

  • Parry specific moves.If you get the timing right, you can parry enemies’ quick attacks by pressing L1 at the precise moment of their attack. Not only will this interrupt their combo, but it will also leave them reeling momentarily.
  • Hit/throw them into the environment.Make the most of the environment when fighting, as you’ll be able to slam characters into walls and other surfaces that will stagger or stun them.
  • Sweep the leg or eye. Pressing up, down, Y/triangle to execute a leg sweep that will knock down opponents. You can also execute this move within focus by unlocking the skill in the skill menu and selecting it by holding L2 (when you have enough focus stacked). Eye Strike’s focus stun is also immediately available, but won’t punish your opponents.
  • Deplete your health to the point where a knockdown appears. Many fights in Sifu will end with a knockdown, which appears when your enemy’s health is nearly depleted. When this happens, your opponent will be stunned for a moment.
