The 2nd-gen Echo Buds are Amazon’s real bid to carve out a niche for itself in the headphone market

Amazon today introduced the second-generation Echo Buds, wireless earbuds with a HiFi audio architecture that promises clear, balanced sound, active noise cancellation technology, wireless charging capabilities, and microphones. They have to improve the first image.

Amazon’s idea is that users can use the headphones to access Alexa in hands-free mode. Which is the real business of the company: the virtual assistant.

The new Echo Buds 2º are available in black and white and carry the Climate Pledge Friendly, which gives them an environmentally responsible status, the new Amazon standard when it comes to selling products under its seal.

The headphones are available for pre-sale through Amazon and will begin to be sent to customers from February 24, they assure Jeff Bezos’s company.

The price of the headphones is the strong point in a market already saturated with options: they cost 119.99 euros for the USB-C cable charging option, or 139.99 euros for the wireless charging option .

The USB-C wired charging option is available to customers at a starting price of €79.99 and the wireless charging option will be available at a starting price of €99.99. But they warn that these prices are temporary, they will surely rise as soon as they are launched on the market.

Amazon explains that the new Echo Buds 2º are small, light, IPX4-rated to withstand splashes, sweat or rain; and are designed to be comfortable enough so you can wear them all day ( although this statement should be taken with caution).

The cancellation technology uses the inner and outer microphones to intelligently estimate the sound pressure on your eardrum, which directly correlates with the way you hear the sound around you.

To activate active noise cancellation, Amazon says that you will only have to press and hold any of the headphones. The idea was to make them simple to use.

The Echo Buds of 2nd generation will come out next week, so if you are interested in getting one, take advantage of the current offer that lowers the headphones by a whopping 40 euros.
