The overwhelming announcement shared by the Civil Guard that invites you to reflect

Two drivers are about to collide and when they hit the brakes time stops. This is the road safety campaign that New Zealand has carried out and is called Mistake.

The Civil Guard wanted to share it on its Twitter profile to make the population see the danger that certain speeds pose on the road.

You can’t miss the video , we already noticed that the ad is shocking, not because of the images that appear, but because of the moral harshness it presents. Undoubtedly one of the toughest campaigns we’ve seen.

In the video we see how two drivers are about to collide and time stops. At that moment they have a conversation before an unstoppable and deadly impact.

This campaign was launched in New Zealand in 2014 on the occasion of the operation coming out of the summer holidays. With it they intended to make the population aware that, at the wheel, recklessness and speeding can come to pay too dearly.

The New Zealand campaign warned: “Other people make mistakes. Slow down.” And it is undeniable that we all make mistakes when driving. However, it is important to be aware that we are not alone, and that these mistakes or oversights can be very expensive.

This past 2021, during the summer departure operation, there were 90.8 million journeys between July and August, figures higher than the summer of 2020. Despite this, it is the year with the fewest deaths have occurred on the road.

There was talk of 191 people, the lowest figure to date since accident records were made: -5% less than in 2020 and -11% less than 2019. The lowest figure to date had occurred in 2020 with the pandemic.

We have to wait and see what happens this summer and if campaigns like these serve to raise 100% awareness among those people who circulate without any of control.
