Yesterday the Super Bowl took place, the biggest sporting event of the year for the American public, but also for the rest of the world. According to communication and advertising experts, it is the most important moment on television around the globe (and because this Super Bowl was not televised).
For this reason, companies that want to advertise during the Super Bowl break have to have their pockets well filled, since the second one costs several million dollars. Today it is the most expensive advertising space on TV.
And, if anyone in this world has money, it is Jeff Bezos. And since he has a lot of money, yesterday he bought a one-minute slot during half-time to show us, for the first time, the new series in action from him. Amazon is spending a pretty penny trying to make The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power the next big hit in the fantasy genre. Bezos’ goal is to turn it into the new Game of Thrones.
According to Vanity Fair, the company has spent a whopping 250 million dollars just on the rights of the adaptation, in addition to the staggering 462 million dollars that the company is said to have spent on the making of the first season alone.
